The Friendship Café unfortunately had to close in 2016, bringing pause to a great place of belonging. Don't worry; It will be back. Plans are currently in motion to revive the cafe and make it a centrepoint of the community once again. We will keep you posted on developments!
In addition to running as a commercial café, it provided:
- A training facility for people with special needs to learn hospitality skills such as a barista, sandwich artist or waitperson as part of an Alternatives to Employment (ATE) program or TAFE course.
- Employment for people with special needs.
- A social opportunity to make friends and connect with the community.
